Michael Jackson Thriller facts
Michael Jackson’s sixth studio album, Thriller , was released in 1982. It quickly shot to the top and is still considered the best-selling album of all time. The album broke records by winning eight Grammy Awards in 1984, including Album of the Year. The album has nine songs. All seven of the songs that were released as singles reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 .
Thriller was the last single released from the album, in 1984. It became one of Michael’s signature songs. Thriller’s lyrics deal with dark themes of paranoia, the occult and the supernatural. The 14-minute mini-horror flick, directed by John Landis, cost half a million US dollars to make, and it is regarded as the greatest music video of all-time. John’s wife, Deborah, designed Michael’s fierce red jacket for the video.
During the video, Michael transforms into a werewolf and then a zombie and is choreographed dancing with the zombies. The choreography has become a part of global pop culture, replicated everywhere from Bollywood scenes and even in a video from prisons in the Philippines that went viral.
The lovely Ola Ray, a former Playboy centerfold, co-stars with him in the video. Ola Ray has since complained about not being able to collect all the royalties due to her. She eventually sued for the uncollected royalties on May 6, 2009 less than two months before Michael’s death on June 25.
Since 2007, every October, a few days before Halloween, dancers in cities all over the world perform a simultaneous dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” with specially arranged choreography from the music video. The event is called “Thrill the World”. In 2008, 4,177 people from 10 countries simultaneously danced to Thriller during this event.
Here’s your chance to dress the part and join the fun for 2009. Take center stage in this

thriller is probably my favorite video. I grew up watching Michael and was sad to see what he did to himself. He seemed like a great nonassuming guy who had to deal with a lot. Popularity is hard if you can not get away from it and Michael tried everything to make himself acceptable to everyone, which we all know is impossible. I will always enjoy listening to his music.

Everywhere one goes on the ‘net’ to research Michael Jackson….the name “Thriller” predominates all other references to Michael. He will probably do as well [if not better] commercially in death than he ever did in life. One only has to refer to Elvis Presley and his income today….how many years is it since he passed away ?

All the tips I’ve discovered? Lots of research (online and offline) and personal trial and error with my passion for Michael Jackson’s genius as the fuel for my motivation. I know there are many others out there like me who can’t get enough…
So— what kinds of things would you most like to know/learn about MJ?

The writer of michaeljacksonhalloween.org has written a superior article. I got your point and there is nothing to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not disagree with: When you go to a restaurant and trawl the menu you always end up wanting the meal that the waiter places in front of your date…. I will be back.

I was studying something else about this on another blog. Interesting. Your linear perspective on it is diametrically contradicted to what I read in the first place. I am still pondering over the diverse points of view, but I’m inclined to a great extent toward yours. And regardless, that’s what is so super about contemporary democracy and the marketplace of ideas online.

Hi, I am aware this is probably somewhat unexpected to hear, but your blog helps me to get through my day, when my coworkers are nagging at me every single waking minute! A bunch of my friends told me about it but I did not find it for quite a while, so a couple days back you can imagine how pleased I was to finally stumble upon it! Me, I don’t blog at all due to time constraints nonetheless I do love to look at other people’s work. I just had to comment to show my admiration for your posts and I also wanted to say that many authors do not get any credit for their work, credit that is, surely well deserved. Given the subject matter you might not believe me and maybe even doubt that any sane person could like it so much, but I genuinely want you to keep it up. It’s great!
