Play the Part in Your Michael Jackson Halloween Costume
Michael Jackson’s distinctive sense of style is evident in his music videos, live performances and public appearances and they’ve inspired a generation of wanna-be’s and lookalikes. His funky wardrobe is an integral part of his allure as a top entertainment personality. Over the years, his style has been captured in a great variety of Michael Jackson Halloween costumes. These costumes have always been popular, but after his death in June 2009, they are one of the hottest sellers for Halloween. There are costumes styled after all of his most popular music video outfits- Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean, Beat It Red Jacket, and more.
Pay tribute to the King of Pop this Halloween with an officially licensed Michael Jackson Halloween costume. It’s easy to recreate his look with DIY accessories, but if you want authenticity without much effort and you don’t want to spend a bunch of time creating the outfit, get the officially licensed costumes. The pieces are versatile and can be changed up in different ways, depending on your own personal style or the part you wish to play. They are available in Adults or Kids sizes. Keep them as collector’s items or for other future costume parties.
And if you really want to knock people’s sequined socks off— don’t just dress to impress, but really stand out and be a show-stopping sensation, by re-enacting one of the King of Pop’s great music videos for your Halloween 2009 party with a bunch of friends or for your solo act.
Look the Part – Pick out the Michael Jackson Halloween costume that corresponds to the part you want to play. If you add your own pants, make sure they’re above your ankle-length, to show off your sparkly or white socks. Don’t forget the sparkly single glove. If you pick the Michael Jackson Thriller costume, get a sidekick to play the part of Ola Ray, MJ’s girlfriend in the music video.
Feel the Part – Check your CD or iPod collection to listen and re-listen to the song that corresponds to the costume you selected. Go to YouTube or many other places online to see MJ’s live performances as well.
Sound the Part – Find and practice the lyrics to the whole song, or just your favorite parts, so that you can sing it in tune. Throw in the odd “hee hee” or “hiccup” sounds in all the right places for added effect. This is especially useful if your family can’t even stand your best shower voice. Practice a lot if you don’t want people to give you funny looks and wonder what’s wrong with you.
Get the Moves – Watch the music video and live performances and be sure to learn and practice the moonwalk or the many other innovative and distinctive moves that are unmistakably MJ influenced. You can find step-by-step instructions for the Moonwalk online, to go with your Michael Jackson Billie Jean costume.
Practice, Practice, Practice – Perfect your look, your moves and your sound, so that you can feel the part and totally rock out in your Michael Jackson Halloween party for 2009. Don’t be shy—- be a showstopper, just like he was!

Michael was truly the King of Pop. It’s really sad that we will never see this great superstar ever again. My prayers go out to his children on this one year anniversary of his death. I hope that doctor gets what’s coming to him.

Wow, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this too – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get something done.
