Gary, Indiana is sprucing up in anticipation of the crowds that will flock to town to check out the home where the Jackson family once lived. His mother, Katherine, and his three children will be there marking the anniversary in private. The cemetery in Forest Lawn, where Jackson is buried, will be open for fans to visit on Friday but the mausoleum where his body rests will remain off-limits.

MTV and numerous other TV and radio stations around the world will be airing wall-to-wall videos, retrospectives and documentaries all weekend long commemorating the star’s life and achievements.
